The European section of the Global Alliance on Media and Gender, GAMAG, reaffirms its call for dialogue and peace in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

After Russia’s attack on Ukraine that aggravates the conflict between the two countries, GAMAG Europe (GE) expresses its resounding NO to war! and reaffirms its firm call for dialogue and peace as essential elements of the human rights that our organization defends. In accordance with our fundamental values, we emphasize the importance of the citizen’s right to information and communication, which demands the utmost respect for the truth of the facts and which in no way supports –and less now– warmongering rhetoric and propaganda.

La sección europea de la Alianza Global sobre Medios y Género, GAMAG, reafirma su apuesta por el diálogo y la paz en el conflicto Rusia-Ucrania.

Tras el ataque de Rusia a Ucrania que agrava el conflicto entre ambos países, GAMAG Europa (GE) expresa su rotundo ¡NO a la guerra! y reafirma su firme llamamiento a favor del diálogo y la paz como elementos esenciales de los derechos humanos que nuestra organización defiende. En consonancia con nuestros valores fundamentales, recalcamos la importancia del derecho a la información y la comunicación de la ciudadanía, que exige el máximo respeto a la verdad de los hechos y que no ampara en ningún caso –y menos ahora– la retórica y propaganda belicistas.

25N- We must put an end to violence and…

GAMAG Europe joins the multiple organizations, feminist movement and civil society at European and international level in the commemoration of the 25N, International Day for the elimination of violence against women, to end the sexist violence suffered by women and children from all over the world, and encourages countries to ratify the International Labor Organization’s Convention 190 on violence and harassment, by supporting the International Trade Union Confederation’s campaign to accelerate the process towards the elimination of violence and harassment in the world of work.

GAMAG Europa se une a las múltiples organizaciones y sociedad civil a nivel europeo e internacional en la conmemoración del 25N, Dia Internacional para la eliminación de la violencia contra las mujeres, para acabar contra la violencia machista que sufren mujeres y niños y niñas de todo el mundo, y anima a los países a ratificar el Convenio 190 de la Organización Internacional del Trabajo sobre la violencia y el acoso, apoyando la campaña de la Confederación Sindical Internacional para acelerar el proceso que nos lleve a la eliminación de la violencia y el acoso en el mundo del trabajo.

Gamag-Europe Afghan women: journalists, judges and teachers

The win of the Taliban in Afghanistan and the withdrawal of international forces in August has put on hold the advances that the country and women and girls in particular have benefited from in the last two decades. And not only that, but they are in clear setback and danger.

Few people have been evacuated compared to all those left at the mercy of the new Afghan government, ruled by Sharia. This Government has abolished the Ministry of Women’s Affairs by the so-called Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice.
